We have evolved over the years from being a trusted direct life insurer to becoming a multi-distribution insurer in 2013, offering services for all classes of independent financial advisers and in 2021 launching our own tied broker. Take a look at some of our industry “firsts”: We were the first company to sell life insurance direct to the public online and through our mobi site, and the first life insurance company to launch a USSD policy management service (*120*101#) for life policyholders. We were also the first to introduce HIV testing via saliva instead of blood tests. In November 2022 we shook up the industry again, offering consumers fully tailored, comprehensive life, funeral, dread and disability insurance online in less than 15 minutes. With the launch of Truth About Money in March 2014, 1Life realised its vision of changing the lives of ordinary South Africans. Truth About Money offers a free online financial education course, legal and wills benefits as well as access to debt management services, helping South Africans take control of their finances and grow wealth for future generations. Our financial advisers are backed by Vantage, our bespoke digital solution that enables straight through processing including remote acceptance with electronic signatures and one-time-pins. Furthermore, advisers who use Vantage have a 97% success rate of policies being issued within 35 minutes!
