33 Buckets creates sustainable access to clean water by training and equipping community-run clean water franchises. It is not enough to simply dig wells or provide filters. Research has shown that 40% of such water projects break down. Our approach creates the local management structure and community engagement required to make a long-lasting impact. In today’s world, at least 1.8 billion people - almost 1 in 4 - must still drink contaminated water. Water issues cause millions of deaths every year and contribute to worsening cycles of inequality.
