When life throws you a curveball, you can either fight against it or work with it. We chose the latter. 47ZERO was founded after a serious health event that set Cormac Hanley back to zero at 47 years of age, forcing him to relearn the basics. Eventually, he sought a new challenge—one that was within reach given his new limitations. And so, the seed for 47ZERO was planted. After completing a horology course in Annecy, in the east of France, Cormac and his wife, Gráinne, founded 47ZERO, focusing on the design and fabrication of artisanal watches. Having retained his creative side and now, having learned about the mechanics of watchmaking, 47ZERO is unique in that the watches are both designed AND made by Cormac. Each watch design tells its own story, a story of positivity and a tribute to perseverance and creativity in the face of adversity.
