5280 Energy Solutions started in 2017 by 3 oilfield entrepreneurs with a combined experience of over 50 years in Oil & Gas. Our Success Story: 5280 was pulled together after a large operator (Extraction) in the DJ basin wanted a better solution for “sock” filtration on their locations. After using several types of filtration over our many years in the industry we settled on a low cost mechanical back-flush filtration design. The client loved the solution and within a year we had 7 units working in the field. Over time the design was refined and improved in several ways, which lead to the current 30ft gooseneck units which all the operators in the field love. This is the only units of this kind in the region and can operate in either a Class 1 Div. 1 with an electric pump or none classified with a diesel pump. Using backflush filtration rather than standard socks virtually eliminates the purchase and disposal of socks waste that can climb to over 200-300 per day. Backflush filter units are also safer to use, do to less operator interface opening and closing the filter vessels 70% fewer times per day. A greener solution all around 5280 has also provided a solution for high-pressure gas and power lines crossing access roads on location. These units eliminated the need for digging a large ditch to bury pipes and power lines across the location loop road while allowing large equipment such as a coiled tubing rig to drive across the protected lines. There are many types of drive-overs on the market, but none that can handle very large/heavy equipment loads.
