Inspired by concern over the growing disconnection and inequality in society, 5asideCHESS was established as a social enterprise in 2015 by co-founders Ross Smith and Ian McKay. The goal is to create opportunities for meaningful encounters, broaden peoples understanding of others, improve mental health and wellbeing, and in the process, help reconnect society. 5asideCHESS is about connection and community.
