AB DESIGN STUDIO’ has always been guided by a belief that the quality of our surroundings has a direct influence on the quality of our lives, whether that is in the workplace, at home or in the public realm. Allied to that is an acknowledgement that architecture is generated by the needs of people, which are both material and spiritual, and a concern for the physical context and sensitivity to the culture and climate of place. That holds true whether we are creating a new building or making interventions within a historic structure. As professionals we have dual responsibilities firstly to the clients we serve, but also to the public domain and the many users involved. A high degree of personal service, coupled with a commitment to respect the precious resources of cost and time, has always characterized our client relationships. Another resource is ‘creative flair’ - perhaps the most precious of all. This is equally true in the pursuit of beauty as it is in adding value - the two do not have to be in conflict. Excellence of design and its successful execution are central to our approach.
