A Call To College
A Call to College is a non-profit 501c(3) college access organization that partners exclusively with the Newark (OH) City School District. Founded in 1991, its mission is to “assure every Newark City Schools student the opportunity to pursue and complete education after high school." To fulfill this mission, the following objectives inform A Call to College programs and services-to motivate and encourage students to graduate from high school and to pursue post-secondary education -to advise Newark City School students and their families about sources of financial aid for college -to provide need-based scholarships to qualified graduates-to increase awareness and understanding of the benefits of education beyond high school
