A. Gallo Colors

We specialize in watercolors created from the best natural, historical and innovative pigments available today. Our professional watercolors are highly pigmented and have excellent lightfastness. Handmade in Assisi, our colors are crafted according to a traditional recipe of raw pigments, gum arabic from the Acacia Senegal tree, local honey from Umbria and rosemary essential oil. Made by artists for artists, at the heart of A. Gallo Colors is the idea of a dialogue between the ancient art of paint-making and the creation of contemporary art materials. In the spirit of upholding a living tradition, our team of artisans are all trained in a contemporary paint-making workshop. Each artisan begins as an apprentice, and through years of practice and knowledge acquisition, become masters of their craft.
