A Liga Do Teatro

Founded in 2017 by former students of the Theater and Dance School at UFPA (Federal University of Pará) in Brazil, it is managed by Barbara Gibson, Haroldo França, Larissa Imbiriba, Leandro Oliveira, Luiza Imbiriba, Paulo Jaime, Victor Azevedo, Theo de Oliveira and Paola Pinheiro. As a result of creative entrepreneurship, the group has invested in original dramaturgies since its embryonic plays:"Encantado S.A" and "A Quase Fantástica Fábrica de Chocolate". In 2017,"Serenata de Humor" premiered, being performed on local bars and cultural spaces. In 2019 the first season of "Queen Num Toque de Mágica" musical based on the British band Queen’s soundtrack, became a public & critics success, and had its second season in April 2022. In the same year, the comedy "Encandados S.A" returned to the stage with new characters. From 2022 onwards, the League offers theater courses, and by the end of each semester, the students act on original plays, resulting in adaptations such as "Encontros", based on "Heartstopper" series,"Strange Ends", inspired by "Stranger Things" from Netflix, and "Vermelho, Branco e Azul", an adaptation from "Red White and Blue Blood" series. In 2023, the group premiered "Autocriticism", a journey into Adam's mind accompanied by his own self-criticism, and the musical "Dois Garotos de Liverpool’’, exploring the relationship between John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Currently, they are part of Opera Studio, assuming the scenic direction of concerts and musicals at Carlos Gomes State Institute. In 2024, the company offers the first Musical Theater Workshop, inspired by Glee. The Theater League continues to consolidate its vibrant presence on Brazilian theater scene.
