The Aargus Group is a fully owned and operated Australian company that has been structured and tailored to suit market needs. The definition of the word Aargus, as taken from the Oxford dictionary, portrays the watchful guardian. In Greek Mythology, Aargus was known as the person with one hundred eyes. Today, we have combined both definitions to create a philosophy and logo signifying a global grid with an eye."watching over the earth". Today, Aargus consists of offices located in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and 4 overseas offices (Greece, Lebanon, Spain, and South Korea). Aargus has since sold its chemical manufacturing operation in Kogarah NSW, but retains all other offices and locations with head office based in Sydney. In 2006, Aargus undertook an expansion programme into the geotechnical area by purchasing the geotechnical company Brink & Associates along with Earth Drilling Services. In 2009, Aargus changed the name of Brink & Associates into Aargus Engineering Pty Ltd and Earth Drilling Services into Aargus Laboratories Pty Ltd. The expansion by acquisition is to achieve economies of scale; achieve larger strategic project goals more quickly; increase brand value; and increase market share. Now, Aargus has positioned itself for large growth by joining its services together in Aargus Pty Ltd and segregating its assets via Aargus Holdings Pty Ltd. Aargus Recruitment Pty Ltd and Aargus Australia Pty Ltd act as the arm for resources and contracting enabling for future business acquisitions. Primary services that are provided are: • Environmental Services for Soil, Air, Noise, Water, Waste and Industry • Environmental Remediation and Clean-up Services • Geotechnical Engineering, Drilling and NATA Registered Laboratory Testing Aargus has combined these business units to provide an integrated project management service at the one contact point.
