ABODE Treatment, Inc. believes that chemical dependency is an insidious and progressive disease. Multiple studies have indicated that the majority of individuals involved in the criminal justice system are involved with the use/abuse of mood-altering chemicals. Many of these individuals have social developmental deficiencies, as well as educational and vocational disadvantages. ABODE Treatment, Inc. further believes that these individuals can and do recover from the disease of chemical dependency with appropriate treatment. Further, ABODE Treatment, Inc. believes that the criminal population can obtain and maintain the social and vocational skills necessary to survive in the free world without resorting to chemicals or crime to help inadequate coping skills.
