Acme collaborates closely with clients to create work that embraces both the conceptual and cultural dimensions of each project, while meticulously attending to production details. Our portfolio spans diverse projects, from visual identities and annual reports to creative campaigns, websites, magazines, exhibition catalogues, and books. Past clients include Against the Grain Theatre, Amplified Opera, Mammalian Diving Reflex, New College, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, University of Toronto, Vtape, and YYZ Books. Michael Barker, the creative director of Acme, founded the studio in 2008. Beginning his career at Bruce Mau Design in Michael has since worked with diverse institutions in the public, creative, and cultural sectors. His experience includes serving as an in-house designer for the University of Toronto, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Toronto Wildlife Centre. Michael approaches design as a method to explore his deep curiosity about the world and to drive positive change.
