Act Fast
Described by the Journal of Emergency Medicine (JEMS) as, “One of the most innovative, functional and potentially lifesaving products to come onto the EMS market,” the Anti Choking Trainer is used to train millions of students in 70 countries. The Anti Choking Trainer is a neoprene vest worn by students that effectively and safely teaches the correct way to perform the Abdominal Thrust Maneuver (Heimlich) in various choking rescue scenarios. At the top of the bladder is a rigid airway with an opening that points upward and away from the user’s face. A foam plug is placed in the airway to simulate an obstruction. With the correct hand placement and technique, the foam plug is ejected into the air as immediate tactile and visual feedback for the user. The Trainer also includes a foam back pad for practicing backslaps as recommended by the UK Resuscitation Council as well as the choking rescue protocols as indicated by the Red Cross and European Resuscitation Council.
