At Active Listening, we have a range of tutoring, movement programmes, and audio-processing tools that can help with a large variety of learning and listening difficulties. Movement programmes stimulate and integrate the vestibular, proprioception, tactile and visual systems all at once. They are designed to give the brain the opportunity to “rewire” the neural pathways and strengthen the foundations so academic learning becomes easier. Tutoring can include combinations of- Movement skills - Sensory integration - Structured literacy / phonological processing - Mathematics skills using materials - Reading - Writing Active Listening was set up and created by Jan, who searched for some tools that helped Children and Adults alike who found who struggled with various levels of concentration, stress, learning difficulties, sleep and general sensory conditions. With 30+ years of teaching experience and a master's in Education Jan totally understood that by applying customised therapies that improved brain and body connections she was able to help her clients (from children to adults) to lead happier and healthier lives. Jan is a practitioner of the Tomatis Education Programme and has also developed movement and tutoring programmes.
