Active Locums Pty Ltd is a locum agency supplying RMOs, Registrars, VMOs to the hospital system and GPs to general practice. Special interests include psychiatry/mental health placements, indigenous health, and the rural sector. Free career counselling is provided for doctors who are undecided about their future direction or where to specialise. Active Locums Pty Ltd aims to promote good work-life balance and encourages doctors to regain some control over their working life to provide the opportunity to explore creativity, talents, further postgraduate studies, undertake a research project, simply spend time with family or travel. From a clinical perspective, locum work provides the opportunity to gain clinical experience in a new working environment, to try out different locations and provide time for self-reflection to determine a future career path. The great rates of pay assist locum doctors to reach financial goals, i.e home or investment property, car, overseas travel, self-improvement, study or research.
