Adams County Fire Rescue

Adams County Fire Rescue is designated as a special district in the state of Colorado and provides an all-hazard incident response, community risk reduction, fire prevention, and fire investigations in the north Denver metropolitan area. The district's overnight population is 68,500, with an estimated daytime population of over including commuters and the industrial workforce. We respond to over calls annually from four stations. The service area is considered urban, with a mix of commercial and residential occupancies, and includes over 128 lane miles of interstate and state highways. Our front-line apparatus consists of three type one engines, one truck company, four advanced life support medic transport units, a hazardous material unit, heavy rescue, two type six brush trucks, one type three engine, a Safety and Medical Officer unit, and one Battalion Chief unit. The department also has a full-service training center with a Class A burn facility, tower, and multiple training props, including the IAFF fire ground survival training trailer. Special services include technical rescue (Colorado Task Force-1), wildland, hazmat, honor guard, fire prevention, community outreach, peer support and wellness, and arson investigations. ACFR is governed by a publicly elected Board of Directors comprised of five members. The board oversees the budget and approves policy.
