Adaptive Pilates

You are happier when you move more! Restrictions in movement can occur when the body has been subject to a trauma, often caused by an illness, bad posture, an accident or surgery. This can cause muscle imbalances such as unwanted tension and weakness. Adaptive Pilates was founded by Jenny Gebka to help clients recover their posture, strength and flexibility so they can get back to doing whatever activities they enjoy the most. Instruction can be provided on a one-to-one basis meaning clients have the undivided attention and support from the instructor. Each session is tailored specifically to progress the client towards achieving their movement goals and can be delivered in-person or online. Development of postural skills can also be delivered in groups for employee well-being or for improvement of specific sports, such as golf, cricket or tennis. The method of Pilates used - that of the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute - is safe for the general population and ideal for rehabilitation: it is gentle and offers progressive levels as the body recovers and gets stronger.
