Addiction Professionals

Our mission is to develop, support, and provide training, education, and accreditation to those working and volunteering in the addiction sector with the aim of raising standards for the benefit of those accessing services and their communities. We also seek to promote the positive contributions the addiction sector makes to the wider public. We do this by: • Providing a range of education and news via our website, conferences, webinars, and educational days. We provide ongoing continuing professional development opportunities for our members. Our flagship event is the well-established annual Managing Addictions in Primary Care conference, held jointly with the Royal College of General Practitioners. • Providing a voluntary register for those working and volunteering in the addiction sector. This requires members to abide by our Standards of Conduct and Ethics, and ensures public accountability through adherence to our disciplinary procedures. • Providing accreditation for individuals working in the addictions sector as well as for educational providers. • Supporting a range of professional networks, including non-medical prescribers, GPs and social workers. We offer a range of accreditation offers including: • Individual accreditation for members • Accreditation of educational courses • Accreditation for academic programmes
