FAQs Is the existing escalator handrail replaced during the process? No. Adrail SA uses a patented adhesive film that safely adheres to existing escalator handrails (Schindler and KONE approved). Would the escalator or moving walk need to be disassembled to install the film? No.The Adrail SA film is applied using a patented applicator. The application process does not require the equipment to be disassembled. On average, an ADRail™ installation is completed within an hour. Will Adrail film damage the Escalator Handrails? No. The Adrail SA film is applied to the handrails with a pressure sensitive adhesive using a specially designed apllicator. It is not permanent and will not damage the handrail.
