At aflote, we are developing powerful geo-location technologies and a social format that will encourage watercraft owner discovery and connectedness without the ‘social feedia’ format seen on major platforms today. We want to give users back control of their content, while also developing non-disruptive revenue streams. Trend forecasters predict the next billion-dollar app will be a vertical social network. One million subscribers is only 0.61% of registered boats worldwide and we will also allow non-motorized watercraft owners (paddle boarders, kayaks and canoes) along with waterfront establishments and boat sales and services to join. Our team has conducted over 200+ interviews with boaters, paddle boarders, and PWC owners in order to confirm market fit and outline the first iteration of the app. As we move forward, we will be adding superior functionality such as boat sharing, dock/slip rentals, boating events, anchorage and provisioning reviews and many other lifestyle features that will improve the 'on water' experience. With outdoor recreation and boat buying at an all-time high, dominant platforms losing users to more niche networks, and Starlink about to connect the remote world, we couldn't be better positioned to launch this venture.
