Afneus

The National Federation of University Science Students' Associations (AFNEUS) is a student organization established in 1992 to unite science and technology student associations across France. Its mission is to represent science and technology students in various national and university bodies through its member associations while respecting their individual freedoms. This approach extends their values of citizenship, independence, mutual aid, and solidarity among science students. AFNEUS is entirely run by volunteers and comprises nearly 30 student associations spread across the country. It collaborates with the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR), the CDUS, the FAGE, and other organizations to effectively represent science students. For over 30 years, AFNEUS has addressed current issues affecting the student community, including the declining interest in science disciplines in the early AFNEUS actively participates in numerous conferences and symposiums to convey the perspectives of science students to think tanks, the ministry, and various commissions. Today, AFNEUS is a driving force in addressing issues such as: Climate change, Promoting scientific mediation, notably through the “Jeunes & Sciences” project, Expanding tutoring programs across France, Providing continuous training for association volunteers as part of a popular education initiative, Supporting professional integration and career guidance, Fighting for gender equality in scientific fields, particularly through the “Femmes En Sciences” project. AFNEUS is a member of both FAGE and AMCSTI network.
