Africa Research Database

Africa Research Database (AfreDat) is a platform designed to preserve and widen access to research information in Africa. Our aim is to meet the need for increased global visibility of research publications originating from or pertaining to Africa. AfreDat makes it possible for users to search scholarly publications held in OAI-compliant institutional repositories scattered across Africa, through one interface. Our African service was launched with 246,505 publications from 51 repositories in 15 countries. These numbers are expected to grow steadily over the coming months. Our worldwide service gives users free access to over 170 million publications from more than 200 million authors. Whether you are using our African or worldwide service, you can save queries or selected records from query results on the platform, for future analysis.
