Africa123
For the past decade, we have developed a Continental Urban Development Strategy to assist African States deal with rapid urbanisation, which has resulted in an initiative to develop 123 new modern cities across Africa. Our aim is to deliver 123 million homes and 123 million permanent positions of employment, in addition to establish places of education, healthcare and recreation. The Africa123 initiative offers the United Kingdom the opportunity to dramatically enhance it's relationship with the African continent whilst securing preferred access and perhaps exclusivity of in-excess of US$20 trillion worth of economic stimulus in African markets, e.g. each of the 123 new modern cities will require an independent power plant, which Rolls Royce's SMR (Small Modular Reactors) could supply and manage on a BOT (Build Operate and Transfer) basis. Africa123 speaks directly to the African Union's Agenda 2063 Aspirations as well as each and every one of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals. This, however, requires a spark to ignite the torch of unprecedented continental upliftment, a spark we see the United Kingdom offering to Africa. By 2063, Africa's population will be over 3 billion, of which 80% or 2.4 billion people will living in urban centres. Today, of the 1.4 billion Africans, 60% or 840 million Africans live in urban centres. This is an increase of over 1.5 billion people living in urban centres. 1.5 billion people yet to be born living in urban centres yet to be built. It is estimated that by 2063, the housing deficit across Africa will be 123 million residential units. Every single country in Africa is in desperate need of of 1, 2 or 3 new cities to assist with their urbanisation challenges! is a Concept and private Initiative to take the successful low-cost housing programmes of the past one step further by relocating underprivileged families from their informal settlements to a newly built city that provides access to clean water and uninterrupted renewable energy as well as employment, education and healthcare. Sustainable urbanization within a regenerative framework presents the biggest and most exciting opportunity for Africa to shed its impoverished image and to become a place of prosperity and growth for all Africans. development as the transformative infrastructure. This onslaught and the modernization of Africa is not a tomorrow project. The time to identify, plan and build each new city is at hand. There is an urgent need to build 1, 2 or 3 new SMARTER build cities across all African countries. A well–designed local economic model develops whole–system integrated urban communities that further result in a regenerative, sustainable environment where citizens can live a healthy, balanced, and upwardly mobile lifestyle. Residents can access quality education at all stages of their lives; work, live and play; enjoy parks, open spaces and public recreation facilities near their homes; walk and use public and non–motorized transport; live in safe neighbourhoods with efficient services; contributing to sustaining the natural environment and minimizing the impact on the environment.
