Afrocessories Co, founded in 2012 by Mary Onyango, is a Kenyan company specializing in contemporary African print wear, jewelry, and home accessories. Mission: to uplift skilled artisans from poverty by providing sustainable livelihoods and celebrating African culture through our products. We offer a range of versatile, vibrant, and affordable clothing designed for the corporate woman and man, including a specially designed plus-size range. Mary Onyango, the Founder and Managing Director, is passionate about Africa and its people. With a background in NGOs and enterprise development, Mary established Afrocessories Co to combine her love for African culture with her desire to create economic opportunities. She is actively involved in community initiatives supporting education and skills development for young women and men. At Afrocessories Co, we value diversity and inclusion, celebrating the unique talents and traditions of artisans from across Africa. We are committed to ethical sourcing and sustainability, ensuring fair wages and environmentally friendly production methods. Vision: To be one of Kenya's leading design houses, distributing and retailing up to in African print clothing, jewelry, and home accessories globally. We aim to achieve this through physical retail stores and online marketing platforms, reaching cities in Africa, the US, UK, and Europe in the next 5 years. Key milestones include participating in vendor pop-ups in New York, Dallas, Atlanta, Columbus, and Memphis, in the USA; Launching our E-Commerce Website. In 2020, we pivoted to production of cloth masks during the COVID-19 pandemic, supplying masks locally and to several Corporate organizations, including the Govt of Kenya, Safaricom, Weetabix etc; Stocking at Zanta Adeyde, Nairobi Street Kitchen; Jeilo Stores in Malls in Nairobi.
