Agencija za bankarstvo Federacije BiH (FBA) dala je puni doprinos reformi bankarskog sistema. Osnovana je krajem 1996. godine kao samostalna, nezavisna i neprofitna institucija za nadzor i licenciranje banaka. Rad FBA je od početka usmjeren na stvaranje jakog i stabilnog bankarskog, mikrokreditnog, lizing i faktoring sistema, tržišno orijentisanog i oslonjenog na međunarodne standarde poslovanja i supervizije (nadzora) banaka, mikrokreditnih organizacija, lizing i faktoring društava.
