Agriaid Sa
AgriAid SA is an NGO, established in 2008, to organise and implement HIV, TB, NCDs and wellness programmes for workers in agriculture, forestry and fisheries irrespective whether workers are permanent, seasonal or migrant. The programmes are funded and supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), a PEPFAR implementing agency, and the National Department of Health (NDoH). The main goal of AgriAid SA is to reduce the direct effects of HIV/AIDS, TB and NCD’s on workers in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, and their beneficiaries. AgriAid SA promotes an integrated approach wherein HIV/TB awareness, information sharing, biannual testing, and treatment are essential components of the fight against the pandemic. Its interventions are implemented in agricultural areas of Limpopo, North West, Mpumalanga and Free State provinces. Collaboration with the Department of Health, Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries and other developmental partners has been fundamental to the success of AgriAid SA.
