Airback is an Amsterdam-based brand making premium smart travel accessories for the modern explorer. As the creators of the world’s first bag with built-in compression technology, we design products that make travel smarter, sleeker and effortlessly more spacious. Founded by Maarten Roodenburg and co-founder Tobias van Nispen, Airback began with a bold idea: a cabin-approved bag that used integrated compression to create up to 50% more space. An idea became a prototype – and soon after, a global community. That community lies at the heart of everything we do. Since 2023, we’ve launched two successful Kickstarter campaigns, shipped to more than customers globally and built an Instagram following of more than one million. Along the way, our innovation has been recognised with multiple international awards – including two Red Dot Design Awards – cementing our reputation as a European leader in travel innovation. Our Amsterdam-based team has expanded beyond the Airback® Original that started it all. In 2024 we introduced the Airback® GO (our ultimate under-seat companion), the NEXT (a premium zipperless aluminium suitcase) and the MAX (a 2-in-1 trolley-meets-backpack). And we’re not stopping there. Next up is our third Kickstarter campaign to launch the Airback Flex: a next-level backpack-to-trolley that fuses compression and flexibility in one sleek design.
