Aisha & Co. is a unique gift and toy retailer and creator of the award winning Ishababies characters. Founded in 1998 by Dr. Aisha Bailey during her senior year at Brown University. Dr. Bailey originally created a line of Thank you cards to add a nuanced flare to the art of gratitude. She began selling her cards in local stores during that time and pursued her dreams of becoming a physician. After graduating from college, Dr. Bailey went on to attend Columbia University for her postbacc premedical studies and ended up working at the NYC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the 9/11 Identification process. It was during this time that Dr. Bailey channeled her creativity into creating a full line of cards for all different occasions adding to her previous line of greeting Thank you's. Dr. Bailey debuted her full line at the National Stationery Show in 2003 to critical acclaim and went on to create Ishababies® in 2004 so that children everywhere could see the beauty that she saw in each child. Each Ishababies® character has its own unique ‘flavor’ (look,feel and style) which correspond to the babies different eye, hair and skin color combinations. Ishababies® “flavors” help us to move beyond standard categories and focus on the individual characteristics that makes each person unique. Ishababies® were named the “2011 Top Toy of the Year” and received the “2009 Seal of Excellence” from Creative Child Magazine. In addition, they have been featured internationally in Giftware News, Giftware News Baby and Kids, and Giftware & Decorative Accessories. Ishababies® were nominees for Best New Product (Gift Category) at both the 2007 and 2005 National Stationery Shows.
