Aisha Rao

Aisha Rao is a Hyderabad based design house. Aisha, it's founder and creative director, graduated as a lawyer from an Indian National Law School, NUJS but went on to pursue design at IED-Barcelona, Spain. She studied Sewing & Garment Construction at Parsons-New York and started the eponymous label in 2017. Aisha's primary vision lay in creating unique up-cycled luxury occasion wear. Her signature largely relies on the appliqué technique whereby fabric waste comes together in sizeable motifs and bold colours with a laborious overlay of aari, zardozi, and macrame to create an eclectic mix of delicate and maximalist aesthetics. Aisha's lehengas are must haves for every Indian bride alligned with millenial sensibilities yet yearning for tradition on her big day.
