Albie Forestry Ltd, a Timber Harvesting, Haulage and Sawmill Company, was established in 2010 by husband and wife team Michael and Donna Newton. Our Harvesting and Haulage business works throughout the local area, South West Scotland and the North of England, but we have the flexibility to work further afield as and when required. The waney boards and battens produced in our sawmill form part of a niche market. There are only four other sawmills within the whole of the UK manufacturing these products and as such they are in high demand. Our target market for our fencing products predominantly covers a wide geographical area in England. In 2023, Michael decided to explore a new approach for utilising wood chips produced by the sawmill. After significant investment and planning, we now produce our own RUF Firewood Briquettes, called HeatBriqs. Our firewood briquettes are Woodsure Certified as Ready to Burn. All timber purchased for and sold from the sawmill has this standard of certification. The FSC certification is considered the "gold standard" designation for wood harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically viable. Our mission is to supply high quality timber products on a local and national scale. We will accomplish this by using selected FSC Certified Timber, maintaining our fleet, plant and machinery to the highest standards and by investing in our employees.
