Alcobra

Alcobra Ltd, founded in 2008 and headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, is an emerging pharmaceutical company focused on the development of new medications to help patients with central nervous system disorders. The company’s lead investigational product candidate is an abuse deterrent formulation of amphetamine immediate release (ADAIR) for the treatment of ADHD. Alcobra will be conducting clinical trials of ADAIR beginning in 2017. If clinical trials are successful, Alcobra will seek marketing approval for the product from national regulatory bodies including the FDA by the end of 2018. The company is also developing Metadoxine Extended Release (MDX) for ADHD and Fragile X Syndrome. The FDA and EMA have granted Orphan Drug status and the FDA has granted Fast Track designation to Metadoxine in the treatment of Fragile X Syndrome. The company has completed one Phase II clinical trial of MDX for the treatment of adolescents and adults with Fragile X Syndrome. Alcobra trades under the symbol “ADHD” on the NASDAQ Global Market and the company completed its initial public offering in 2013. In addition to its headquarters in Tel Aviv, Alcobra has a U.S. office located outside of Philadelphia in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
