Alfield Reeves Photography, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is an editorial and portrait photography business. We specialize in creating work that encourages self-reflection and expression, promotes equitable action and showcases the identity and culture of black & brown people. Our images are warm, quiet and bold. They bridge traditional divides between photojournalism, portraiture and fashion. Our work is featured in magazines and publications like Vogue Greece, The New York Times, Grand Rapids Magazine, Grand Rapids Business Journal, ProPublica, and Insider to name a few. Our work has been part of numerous exhibitions locally and statewide. Alfield has spoken on panels & fireside chats for The Grand Rapids Art Museum, Association for Enterprise Opportunity, ArtPrize, Grow Hub Grand Rapids & Kent ISD. Alfield has been selected for programs like Skillshare’s 2021 Tech Lab Residency, Shutterstock’s 2022 Create Fund Artist Investment Program & Getty Images 2023 Creative Accelerator Program. Alfield serves on the Art Amplify workgroup for non-profit AmplifyGR and on the board at the Grand Rapids Art Museum as their Visionnaire Executive Committee representative. He is also the creator & co-host of The GOATs Podcast, where he and fellow creatives Sophie Rodriguez and George Ward chat about the arts, culture & their lives as creatives.
