Algavo designs and develops modular marine biorefinery infrastructure that enables decentralized, scalable processing of coastal biomass. Rather than operating centralized production facilities, Algavo provides a framework for distributed refining—allowing producers, processors, researchers, and local stakeholders to transform marine biomass into high-value refined inputs close to the source. This approach reduces logistical friction, increases local value retention, and supports the emergence of resilient circular marine economies. Algavo’s modular systems are designed to adapt to different biomass types, processing requirements, and regional contexts. Initial development builds on deep experience in macroalgae and marine biomass processing, while remaining flexible for future applications across food, feed, materials, and biotechnology value chains. By combining applied bioprocess engineering with modular system design and partnership-driven deployment, Algavo acts as an infrastructure and enablement partner—scaling through collaboration rather than consolidation. Algavo works with industry partners, research institutions, and local operators to pilot and deploy distributed marine biorefining systems in Norway and internationally.
