A mutual love of the paint business brought Sue Kay and Allandale Decorating Centre together in 1995. The Decorating Centre had been open 5 years when Larry Gottschalk, the Benjamin Moore Sales Representative for Central Ontario chose the store as his new direction in his lifelong journey in the paint world. He has a shared vision with Sue Kay, an artist and colour consultant. Their vision was to bring interior decorating with professionals to the everyday paint consumer, for free. Seven days a week, the paint consumer could fully experience the benefits of an interior decorator simply assuring the correct colour is purchased. In creating this experience it would be so overwhelmingly successful the consumer would never consider a paint project going any other way. Visioneers are qualified interior decorating or design graduates and pass a 2-year apprenticeship under Sue Kay to fully understand the fundamental and emotional impact of colour decisions. Today, Allandale Decorating Centre sells Benjamin Moore, Para Paints, wallpaper and drapery. Sue Kay has done online colour consultation all over the world and has done over ten thousand home colour consultations.
