In 1838, James Hector came to the wild river and decided they needed to cross. James’s packhorse got uppity and kicked him just north of where the town of Golden rests today. He named the river and nearby pass as a result of the incident; the river’s just as wild today.On the Upper Section, enjoy the scenery of foot peaks in one of Canada’s most beloved National Parks.
