Founded in the early 1970s, Alta was born as a distributor of electronic components. From the beginning, the company has been ahead of its time by bringing international brands such as Te Connectivity, Murata, and Vishay to the Italian scene. With that same spirit of innovation, during the following years, Alta always kept up with the times, carefully following market changes and adapting, each time, to the requests of old and potential new customers. In light of this, fundamental partnerships have emerged with new companies Phoenix Contact, Harting, Panduit, and Weller. Today it boasts a staff of 15 people and two offices, the main one near Florence and a strategic office in Bologna, essential to more accurately cover the needs of customers in northern Italy. The range of services offered over time has greatly expanded and, now, the skills range from the distribution of electronic and electromechanical components, with particular attention to connection devices, to the production of wound systems for the military, space and railway markets, up to the design of fully customized solutions to meet every customer need such as connectors on specification, with the possibility of supplying details (housings, semi-finished products.) both metal and plastic to design both through injection molds and through 3D printing systems and such as the creation of custom battery packs. With the aim of further expanding its skills and abilities, Alta became part of a project called Consortium in 1993 which, with the collaboration of other Italian distribution companies, brought the products of large international manufacturers to the Italian territory.
