Altair Chemical is part of Esseco Industrial, the division of Esseco Group, an Italian family-owned industrial group that has provided products and services for organic and inorganic chemistry for over a century. Altair Chimica is a major player in the production and commercialization of color-alkali products, inorganic potassium derivatives and organic chlorine derivatives. Altair Chemical operates from two production sites: Saline di Volterra in Tuscany, boasting a workforce of 101 employees and achieving a turnover of 270 million in 2022, and Pieve Vergonte in Piedmont, where 87 dedicated employees contributed to a remarkable turnover of 100 million in 2022. As part of an energy transition process involving the entire Esseco Industrial, Altair Chemical is actively investing in renewable energy through a combination of photovoltaic, hydropower, and the reuse of process steam. The company works every day to promote useful and sustainable innovation, collaborating with the Universities of Florence and Pisa and the National Research Council (CNR), Italy's largest institution for applied research.
