Amabokoboko Foundation

Amabokoboko Foundation is a South African NGO focused on foundation-phase learning through movement. We equip under-resourced primary schools (ages 5–13) with trained community teachers/coaches, structured agility sessions, and durable toolkits, then track simple outcomes to improve delivery each term. We train local coaches through our content partner SSISA, to run twice-weekly, age-appropriate agility sessions. We provide school agility kits and repeatable drills that build focus, coordination, and confidence. We offer coach education content with a roadmap to data-free access for schools. We measure a small set of indicators (attendance, session completion, basic skill gains). So why does this matter? 66% of all children < 5yrs will never reach their full cognitive developmental potential and 23,500 of the public schools in SA lack structured physical activity, funding, equipment, qualified coaches. Regular, well-coached movement strengthens attention, handwriting, number work, and problem-solving—foundations for classroom success. How we work. People: identify and develop coaches from the community. Process: simple weekly plans; basic dashboards for consistency. Partnerships: universities for coach training; districts and schools for delivery; private sponsors for scale. 2025–2027 Priorities: 1. Train coaches; equip agility kits across priority regions. Launch a data-free coach education & session-delivery app. Expand pilots in the Western, Eastern & Northern Cape and Namibia. Build a sustainable funding base to protect delivery quality.
