AMAR Wellness is committed to a integrative approach to your emotional and mental health and well-being. Amy Carey (MSW, LICSW) and Arlen Carey (PhD, LICSW) are licensed clinical social workers who have over twenty combined years of practice experience. They have completed formal training in neurofeedback and are pursuing BCIA certification in neurofeedback. They both enjoy working with children and adolescents as well as adults of all ages. Amy Carey earned her MSW in Clinical Social Work from the University of St. Thomas/St Katherine. Before beginning work as a psychotherapist, she worked for Rochester Public Schools and Olmsted County Adult Mental Health Services, and other social service organizations in the St. Cloud, MN area. She has training and experience utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and Mindfulness Techniques, as well as Neurotherapy. Arlen Carey earned a PhD in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and an MSW in Clinical Social Work from the University of Central Florida. He has practiced clinical social work in Florida, Louisiana, and Maine prior to moving to Minnesota. He is Associate Professor of Social Work for Winona State University-Rochester, where he also coordinates the BSW Program. He has training and experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Non-Directive Play Therapy, Mindfulness Techniques, and Neurotherapy.
