American INSIGHT, Inc, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a non-partisan mission to promote the history and values of Free Speech, Human Rights, and the Rule of Law, and to empower students to use their voice to discuss how these values emerge in societies around the world through the lens of independent filmmakers. American INSIGHT's objectives are to facilitate speaking out against injustice through the medium of film and social media; to build social awareness through the promotion of these films; and to inspire communities to redress injustice around the world. Through its programs that include an annual Free Speech Film Festival and Free Speech Award Ceremony, self-guided online course Make History Every Day, an 800 year Free Speech Storyline, and an ongoing Internship Program, American INSIGHT champions leadership in self-expression, the Rule of Law, the best practices of filmmaking, and the history of Free Speech.
