Amina Trust Foundation

The Amina Trust Foundation was started in September 2005 by Mr Nasir Haji, in memory of his late mother, Begum Amina Haji. Mr Nasir Haji is a successful businessman and philanthropist based in Singapore, originally hailing from the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Trust takes its direction from Mr Nasir Haji, is run by several members of the family in Doda and is assisted in its operations by friends and family members studying/working elsewhere around the world. The main goal and purpose of the Trust is to better the lives of people in the region. With humble and small beginnings in Doda, we hope to eventually become an institution capable of reaching out to the whole state and other parts of the world. The Amina Trust operates projects to help disadvantaged members of the community. Some of the Trust’s current projects include: establishment of the HAJI PUBLIC SCHOOL in the village Breswana, land acquisition for a second school in the village Assisi, ongoing and continued financial assistance to widows and orphans, schooling for orphans, medical aid, educational loans and provision of an ambulance to facilitate quick medical attention for injured and sick in the region. The main focus of the Trust is to function from Zakat money and donations to be spent as follows- Provide financial aid to deserving people - Provide medical help and provide money for treatments - Provide education loans and grants, especially for education of women - Improvement of sanitary facilities like public toilets, general cleanliness etc. as none is available right now
