Jordan’s first electronic news website: It launched on the internet in under the name Amman Net and quickly became a leading source of information and journalistic interaction for Jordanians both inside and outside the country. This pioneering achievement elevated the status of the Community Media Network, leading to an increase in the number of site visitors according to international standards. A study on the Jordanian audience’s media consumption, conducted by the Independent Media Support Program based in Washington through the IREX foundation, showed that Amman Net ranked first among news websites in Jordan in 2008.
