המרכז הלאומי לחקר אוטיזם מאגד בתוכו מדענים מאוניברסיטת בן-גוריון בנגב ורופאים מהמרכז הרפואי סורוקה, אשר חוקרים, מאבחנים ומטפלים באוטיזם ובבעיות התפתחותיות אחרות בנגב. המרכז הוקם בשנת 2015 ובמסגרתו נוסד מאגר הנתונים האזורי לאוטיזם, הראשון מסוגו בישראל. המידע שנאסף כולל מגוון מדדים קליניים, התנהגותיים, גנטיים, הדמיות מוח ועוד, שנאספו מהילדים ומהוריהם. אנו ממשיכים לגייס כ-150 משפחות חדשות מדי שנה ולאסוף נתוני אורך במהלך ביקורי המעקב השנתיים. כיום, אנו מתמקדים בהרחבת הנתונים הנאספים מכל ילד ומשפחתו מחד, וחיזוק השותפות המחקרית והטיפולית שהתבססה במרכז מאידך.
