Animela

AniMela is India’s first international festival dedicated to Animation, VFX, Gaming, Comics & XR (AVGC‑XR). Created and run by the not‑for‑profit Aniverse & Visual Arts Foundation (AVAF), AniMela convenes creators, studios, educators and fans to discover new voices, premiere global work, and champion Indian stories for the world. A fast‑growing platform for the industry, AniMela launched its inaugural edition in January 2024 at NFDC’s Films Division campus, Mumbai. The debut showcased 90+ films alongside 20+ masterclasses and sessions, hands‑on XR and gaming showcases, and the International MIFA Campus (IMC) in partnership with the Annecy Festival. From India to Annecy, AniMela’s partnership with Annecy’s Mifa has enabled Indian creators to take the global stage through its International Mifa Campus (IMC). Through initiatives such as Namaste Mifa: India’s Partner Pitch, projects developed at AniMela’s IMC were selected and successfully pitched at MIFA Annecy in both 2024 and 2025—showcasing emerging Indian talent to international producers, distributors and investors. Building the bridge from campus to career, the second edition (7–9 March 2025) at IDC, IIT Bombay focused on connecting students with industry through workshops, screenings and curated networking. The next edition is scheduled for 19–22 February 2026 in Mumbai. What we do • Curate world‑class screenings, exhibitions, conferences and workshops across AVGC‑XR. • Run the International Mifa Campus (IMC) in India with Annecy—mentoring creators and preparing pitches for global markets. • Provide market access via platforms like Namaste Mifa, connecting Indian IP with producers, distributors and investors. • Host year‑round activities that nurture talent and grow the ecosystem.
