Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Anomic Solutions' mission is to provide products and services that discourage juveniles from engaging in criminal activity and help inform parents on how to raise crime-free children. The company name was derived from its mission. The word "anomic" is defined as the:(1) Social instability caused by erosion of standards and values, or (2) Alienation and purposelessness experienced by a person or a class as a result of a lack of standards, values, or ideals.(Source: The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition, Copyright © Children's crime is a by-product and cause of anomic conditions. The word "solutions" represents the company's commitment to create cogent counter measures against the continuing concern of children's crime. Anomic Solutions' first product is the hardcover children's book Graffiti in Tahiti. The three founders bring keen sociological, criminological, media development, marketing, artistic, and managerial skills into the company. They contributed their expertise to the book, producing its story, illustrations, designs, and digital layout.
