About anyExcuse: anyExcuse is an Irish tech company based in Dublin. Founded by Padraig Shanley in early 2017, the anyExcuse platform launched in summer 2017. Offering both a B2B and B2C solution, anyExcuse handles below the line activations for all major drink brands in Ireland as well as being a social gifting website. The social gifting website element offers three different products - personalised gifts, gift cards, and offers. How does it work: Consumers The platform solves multiple problems for consumers challenged by the effectiveness of existing social gifting options. The AnyExcuse platform allows consumers to browse promotions and offers that they can either purchase for themselves or send to a friend. Social gifting, as this is known, generated over $80 billion in the United States alone in 2016*. Social gifting is a growing phenomenon across the world as people become more connected. How does it work: Brands When a user signs up to AnyExcuse, personalised offers and promotions from specific drink brands will be curated for them. This can help drink brands to eliminate promotional staff having to go to bars and hand out drinks, while still collecting data on how well the offer is being received. Working with the major drink brands in Ireland benefits everyone; the consumer gets a promotional beverage, the drinks brand can see how many redemptions have been made on their offer, by who and where the offer was redeemed, and the venue has an increased footfall.
