The Mission - Apogee is a Design, Engineering, and limited run manufacturing firm focused on affording midsize to large organizations the opportunity to function as startups once again. The Story - Our vision came to us in the late 70’s when a biologic company named Bethesda Research Labs connected with Apogee looking to bring commercially viable apparatus to market for use with their products in place of ‘on-the-fly’ rigs, produced by lab techs in that era. The combined team developed the S2®, a revolutionary DNA sequencer of its time. Helping to launch a local Maryland firm from a biologic company to the biotech juggernaut we know today as Life Technologies, now part of Fisher Scientific, with what became the world standard in manual sequencing. The S2 is still used in labs around the globe today, and we're proud to offer the full line of systems under the Apogee Electrophoresis™ label. Since, Apogee has taken part in early stage product development and manufacturing for some of the most successful organizations in the world. We are honored to be a part of the things achieved at Tandberg (acquired by Cisco), Ventev, Protea Biosciences, Naval Research Lab, the National Institutes of Health, through the Apogee Designs development brand. In addition, Tesla, BMW, Honda, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Textron and NASA through its HardGuard® product protection brand.
