Applaudi

Applaudi is an App that displays synchronised subtitles and transmits real time audio (via earphone) through a mobile phone during live theatre. Applaudi provides linguistic and sensorial accessibility to theatre for people with hearing problems or for the visually impaired; it also provides translation for the international audience. The App is brought to the market by Language Carrier (LC), a startup business from Málaga, Spain, and developed in collaboration with University Charles Madrid (UC3M) as a significant breakthrough in the EU and global ambition to promote live theatre without barriers through an accessible Digital Technology ‘tool’ in the service of ALL society. The App will be used to promote the performing arts as a significant part of European cultural tourism.
