Apply Human Rights

Apply Human Rights was founded in 2008 and is a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Stockholm, Sweden. Apply Human Rights is a web portal of international and regional human rights law and provides a structured guide to-international and regional legal instruments for specific right holders -international and regional legal instruments for specific human rights -international and regional legal opinions -international and regional case law -interpretation of international and regional law -international and regional complaints procedures -bibliography of key human rights publications -international and regional human rights organisations -human rights experts Apply Human Rights' aim is to improve access to information about human rights law, and to increase awareness of available legal means for redress in the event of a violation. Knowledge of human rights is key to safeguarding and advancing human rights. The application of international and regional human rights law in national legal institutions is rare, due partly to a lack of knowledge of how it can be done. Apply Human Rights aims to promote the application of international and regional human rights law in national legal institutions, and to raise awareness of the available regional and international mechanisms where states lack effective national institutions for the redress of human rights violations.
