appn.asso.fr APPN INTERNATIONAL is an aeronautical insurance company. It offers insurances for pilots all over the world. Managed by Pilots, for Pilots, APPN protects the licence of over Pilots at every stage of their career. APPN is a provident society in collaboration with strong insurers (AXA, GENERALI and MACIF). Any holder of a valid professional licence as cockpit air crew, in accordance with Annex 1 of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), may apply for membership at any time of the year and without a medical examination if he/she is under 45 years of age on the day of joining. APPN insures active pilots, pilots in training and pilots in search of a job. It is a French non-profit association created in 1956 by a french Captain of Air France. APPN works closely with the Pilots associations and supports their efforts to defend the safety rules specific to the profession of Pilot. The APPN is an association under French law. Its members are based all over the world. Only 20% of the members are French Pilots so 80% of the whole world. APPN is governed by 15 board directors pilots elected by the membership every five years from candidates nominated by the unions approved by APPN. The board elects a bureau comprising a president, vice-president, secretary general and treasurer. The aim of the Board is to- ensure the proper execution of contracts and the timely payment of services- ensure that the contracts offered and negotiated for Pilots are best suited to their needs- validate the accounts and management of the association. Under the aegis of its president, the board of directors meets quarterly and the bureau meets at least monthly. This associative structure with volunteer managers keeps management costs to a minimum and does not pay dividends to shareholders. So welcome at the APPN, the pilots insurer for pilots by pilots!
